Officers Assaulted, Bit by Dog on McPhail Street

Winnipeg Police CrestA Winnipeg man is facing a list of charges after allegedly assaulting a police officer on Tuesday.

Police were attending the 100 block of McPhail Street to arrest the man on the strength of two outstanding warrants. When the suspect began resisting arrest, a dog within the home became aggressive and bit one of the officers in the lower body.

The male continued to resist arrest and kicked the second officer twice in the lower body. The officer who was bit by the dog sought medical attention, while the other officer wasn’t injured.

Douglas Ocman Tristam Polon, 38, has been detained in custody.
