The sixth annual campaign for the Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad was launched on Friday.
The fundraising and awareness campaign will lead up to the charity ride on May 24, where over 1,000 motorcycle enthusiasts will head out on Manitoba’s highways in support of prostate cancer research and education.
“Our goals are to spread awareness of the need for early detection of prostate cancer and to increase the number of registered riders, pledge donors and funds raised each year,” said Ed Johner, prostate cancer survivor and Motorcycle Ride for Dad spokesperson. “All funds stay in Manitoba for prostate cancer research and education.”
Proceeds from the 2013 Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad were presented today at McPhillips Station Casino, raising nearly $190,000 to fight prostate cancer. In the past five years, more than $560,000 has been raised in Manitoba.
