Manitoba RCMP have made an arrest in the death of a 14-year-old girl who went missing in 2011 from Wabowden.
Heather Mallett disappeared on June 9 and her body was discovered two days later in the community. At the time, police treated Mallett’s death as suspicious.
Homicide investigators working on the nearly three-year-old case arrested a suspect in connection to Mallett’s death on Wednesday.
A 19-year-old man from Wabowden faces the charge of first-degree murder. He was a youth at the time and cannot be named.
He will appear in Thompson court on April 24.
