April 17, 2014 7:10 AM | News

Heart and Stroke Foundation of ManitobaThe Heart and Stroke Foundation is throwing the second annual “I Heart Shoes” auction tonight.

More than 130 pairs of shoes will be on display in the rainbow and silent auctions, including from high end designers like Abel Munoz, Escada and Valentino.

Olympic silver medallist Janine Hanson and volunteers from the Paramedic Association of Manitoba will model the latest fashions from Hudson’s Bay Downtown, while Winnipeg’s own DJ Mama Cutsworth and the McConnell Irish Dancers perform.

“We’re very excited to have this wildly successful event back for its second year. Last year’s event sold out and raised $50,000 for the Foundation. This year, we had to order additional tickets to accommodate the high demand,” said event chair Esther Bast of Investors Group.

Proceeds from the event raise funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation to increase awareness of women’s risk for heart disease and stroke.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Delta Winnipeg.
