Alcohol a Factor in Fatal Collision Near Dauphin: RCMP

RCMP Crest LogoDauphin RCMP said alcohol and not wearing a seat belt contributed to the death of a 55-year-old man from Dauphin.

RCMP said they were called to the scene on Municipal Road 151, about eight kilometres north of the town, at about 12:20 a.m. on Friday. There, they found two pickup trucks in opposite ditches.

The 55-year-old driver of the westbound truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the eastbound truck, 25, from rural Dauphin, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The name of the deceased will not be released, said RCMP. The investigation continues.
