Sorry, Manitoba homeowners, your heating bill is on the rise.
The Public Utilities Board approved Centra Gas’ application to raise primary rates by 4.6 per cent beginning May 1. Centra Gas is owned by Manitoba Hydro.
This means the typical homeowner will see their bill rise by about $38 a year.
Those who have signed fixed-term, fixed-price contracts with Centra Gas or a private broker will not be affected.
