The City of Winnipeg’s curbside yard waste collection program will begin next week.
Starting Monday, April 28, waste will be collected at the curb every two weeks on the same day as homeowners’ garbage and recycling pickup.
There’s a calendar at the Winnipeg.ca website for people to access to find out their collection day, or download the free MyWaste app for Apple and Android.
Residents can put their yard waste in:
- any reusable container without a lid (e.g., plastic tubs, old blue boxes, old metal or plastic garbage containers) – containers should not be broken or damaged
- cardboard boxes
- paper yard waste bags (available at many stores)
