The Governments of Canada and Manitoba have signed an agreement that will see job grant dollars flow into the province.
The Canada Jobs Grant is an employer-driven program that will see employers receive dollars to help train employees, with guaranteed jobs at the end of the training.
“By working with business to provide skills training opportunities, we are helping young Manitobans find good jobs right here at home,” said Theresa Oswald, Manitoba Minister of Jobs and the Economy. “Together, the new Canada-Manitoba Job Fund and our five-year, $5.5 billion infrastructure plan will grow our economy, create jobs, and put Manitoba on a stronger, more competitive footing for the future.”
The Federal Government came under fire last year after it was revealed they spent millions of dollars advertising the Canada Jobs Grant before finalizing the programs with the provinces.
