The University of Winnipeg Wesmen women’s basketball team will see Payton Gomes join their squad for the upcoming 2014-15 season.
The Oak Park product is a 5’11” forward who averaged 12 points and 11 rebounds per game for the Raiders this past season.
“We are very pleased Payton has selected the University of Winnipeg and our Wesmen Women’s Basketball team,” said head coach Tanya McKay. “She is athletic, strong and has a ton of potential. Payton will bring her drive to excel at the defensive end and control the boards. A great addition to our program.”
Gomes will enter the U of W this September to pursue a joint engineering program with the University of Minnesota.
