Now that the snow has finally gone — we hope — it’s time to clean what it left behind.
The City of Winnipeg’s annual spring clean up begins this Sunday. City crews will be tackling streets, sidewalks and back lanes over the next four to five weeks.
Drivers should keep an eye out for temporary “no parking” signs on some streets during scheduled cleaning times, or risk a ticket or tow.
And property owners should not rake yard waste material onto the street as this plugs drains, causing ponds on roads and increasing the risk of basement flooding.
The clean-up will cost $4.5 million.
