CAA Manitoba is rounding up used motor oil, tires and automotive batteries this weekend.
During a belated celebration of Earth Day, select CAA garages will collect the items today and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Winnipeg.
“When disposed improperly, automotive items like oil, tires and car batteries are extremely toxic to our environment,” said Angèle Faucher, public and government affairs specialist for CAA Manitoba. “These items can easily be recycled or reused, minimizing the impact on our ecosystems.”
CAA Members and non-members can drop off their automotive goods at the following locations free of charge:
Saturday, April 26
- Degagne Motors – 366 Marion Street
- West Kildonan Auto – 1737 Main Street
- Under the Hood – 1-1871 Pembina Highway
- Canada Auto – 1688 St. Matthew’s Avenue
Sunday, April 27
- FortWhyte Alive* – 1961 McCreary Road (*Oil cannot be accepted at this location)
CAA Manitoba will also be offering free battery tests, eco-checks of vehicles and coupons.
