April 28, 2014 1:25 PM | Sports

Winnipeg Blue Bombers LogoThe Winnipeg Blue Bombers will give amateur football coaches in the community the opportunity to brush up on their coaching skills.

Through a partnership with Football Manitoba, the Blue Bombers will host a National Coaches Certification Program clinic May 9-10 at Investors Group Field.

The cost of the clinic will be covered by the Bombers, allowing funds to stay in amateur football programs.

“This clinic confirms again the Blue Bombers commitment to amateur football in the province,” said Shawn Coates, executive director of Football Manitoba and freelance ChrisD.ca sports photographer. “We are very grateful that they are enabling coaches to receive high-quality training for the betterment of our young athletes.”

The clinics will include on-field instruction with demonstrations from the University of Manitoba Bisons, Winnipeg Rifles and Winnipeg Blue Bomber Alumni, plus classroom and film study in the Bombers Football Operations area at Investors Group Field.

Registration is now open.
