The Manitoba government isn’t finished spending money on Investors Group Field, having contributed another $1.5 million for pavement work.

BBB Stadium Inc., the company formed to build the stadium on behalf of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, says it has reached an agreement with Stuart Olson Dominion Construction Ltd. on the final cost of the stadium — now pegged at $210 million.

The province’s latest contribution includes work on concession areas, as well as improvements to Chancellor Matheson Road for drop off and loading, including an upgraded sidewalk, boulevard paving and curbs just west of the stadium site.

The company also says recent water damage to stadium suites as a result of spring melting is estimated at $450,000. The insurance deductible to fix the damage, which has since been repaired, is $50,000.

In March, the province also committed $3 million for stadium energy efficiencies.

The stadium will host its first event of the year on May 8 when Canada’s national women’s soccer teams host the U.S. in a friendly match.
