A new pilot project is putting used City of Winnipeg fleet vehicles on the market for public resale.
Modelled after a similar program in Calgary, it’s a way for the city to address a surplus of vehicles. Calgary generally attains revenues 10 to 20 percent higher than those sold through auction, which Winnipeg has previously done.
Vehicles will appear on a new website and be available for viewing by appointment. They will be sold as is and without guarantees or warranties.
Options for payment are bank draft, certified cheque or money order. Appointments may be booked by phoning (204) 918-3608 or by e-mail at SurplusSales@winnipeg.ca.
