Police Seize Semi-Automatic Guns on Corydon Avenue

Winnipeg Police CrestTwo semi-automatic guns were seized by Winnipeg police during a traffic stop on Corydon Avenue early Monday morning.

An Acura MDX was pulled over at around 12:30 a.m. by members of the street crime unit with help from the canine unit and Air 1 in the area of Corydon and Cockburn Street.

Police seized a .42 calibre Smith and Wesson 1911 semi-automatic and a .45 calibre Glock 21 semi-automatic. Both were loaded with additional ammunition.

The Smith and Wesson was stolen from Regina, SK. Police are working to confirm the background of the Glock.

Keith Sapong, 29, of Winnipeg, Johnathan Hebrada-Walters, 28, of Edmonton and Theodoros Belayneh, 29, of Edmonton have been charged with numerous weapon-related offences. They remain in custody.
