Suspect Caught Following Tyndall Park Break-In

Winnipeg Police CrestA 22-year-old man is facing charges following a break-in at a home on Taraska Bay.

Winnipeg police responded Sunday morning at around 2 a.m. when the suspect entered through an unlocked door. Once inside, it’s alleged he began removing electronics and placed them outside the rear of the home.

A female resident was awakened and then assaulted as the suspect tried to keep her from calling for help. Two other people in the home were alerted and chased the suspect on foot through the neighbourhood.

Devon McGillivary was located by police and the canine unit in the area of Inkster Boulevard and Keewatin Street.

He has been charged with break and enter, assault, and failing to comply with a probation order. He remains in custody.
