A Winnipeg woman who scoured the city to find her daughter the perfect Easter chocolate, ended up winning her own prize.

After numerous stops in search of a particular chocolate bunny, Yvonne Perrault stopped at the Red River Co-op on Gateway Road and redeemed $20 worth of winnings to buy a $100 million Prestige scratch ‘n win ticket.

While sitting in the parking lot, Perrault uncovered an entire first line of the ‘your numbers’ play area to win $1 million.

“I sat in shock for like 20 minutes,” she said in recounting the moment she had won on the $10 ticket. “Then I ran in and got my receipt to make sure I had proof.”

She plans to share her windfall with her family, while also investing some of her winnings.
