A new online directory now lists Manitoba farms actively offering a wide range of local products.
Small Farms Manitoba features 104 farm profiles from across the province.
Kalynn Spain, founder and the directory’s independent coordinator, says the listing came about after a year of interviewing farmers and a four-month working farm tour last summer.
“It’s been really inspiring to meet so many small producers who are making a living from farming,” said Spain, who plans to start her own farm one day. “I would like to see the directory bring small producers together.”
The directory serves as a tool not only for consumers, but also for businesses looking to purchase locally.
