Corner Gas: The MovieThe gang from Dog River is reuniting on the big screen for a “Corner Gas” movie.

The beloved Canadian TV sitcom has been off the air for five years, but fans still have a warm spot for their favourite characters, including star and creator Brent Butt.

A planned holiday release date for “Corner Gas: The Movie” is expected after filming begins in June in Rouleau, Saskatchewan. The small prairie community was the setting of the original series and fictional town of Dog River.

“I’m excited. The entire gang is back. The movie picks up five years after we last checked in and it has everything you loved about the show — snappy dialogue, colourful yet relatable characters, ill-fitting denim trousers, you name it!,” executive producer Brent Butt said in a release.

A Kickstarter campaign has been launched to raise $100,000 for the production in 30 days. Based on fans’ donation amounts, they will be eligible for rewards and merchandise

The movie will roll out to Cineplex Theatres across Canada, followed by premieres on CTV, The Movie Network, and The Comedy Network.
