Three people escaped with non-life threatening injuries after a plane crashed at the Russell Airport on Sunday.
The Cessna Model 182P was found overturned about half a kilometre south of the runway when police arrived on scene at 9:30 a.m. There was no smoke or fire involved, but police say it appears the pilot had difficulties taking off.
The 61-year-old man piloting the plane, along with a 56-year-old woman and 83-year-old woman, were taken to a local hospital. All three were from the Miniota area.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating, but the matter isn’t being considered criminal in nature.
