The Winnipeg Art Gallery has hired Catherine Maksymiuk as its new manager of media and marketing.
Maksymiuk served as interim manager of communications and marketing at the WAG from 2012-13 and she chaired the history committee for the WAG’s centennial year. Previously, she was involved as a committee member for Nuit Blanche and Art & Soul, and she is currently co-chair of the 2014 Gallery Ball committee.
“Catherine is the consummate cultural strategist and advocate. She understands the critical role the arts play in communities today, and she knows how to get the message out there— and to listen,” said WAG director and CEO Dr. Stephen Borys.
Maksymiuk, who takes over for Debra Fehr, begins her new position on June 5.
