MEC Winnipeg Paddlefest (HANDOUT)
Get those paddles out! It’s almost time for MEC Winnipeg Paddlefest.
The annual Mountain Equipment Co-op event is kicking off the summer watersport season on June 8 at FortWhyte Alive — just one of 12 similar events happening across Canada.
“As everyone knows, it’s been a long winter here in Winnipeg. So we’re definitely ready to get out there and get back on the water,” said Jamie Hilland, coordinator for MEC Winnipeg Paddlefest.
The free day will celebrate paddling by bringing together professionals of the sport, manufacturers, clubs, and members of the public for a fun day of free activities.
Paddlefest will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1961 McCreary Road.
