Bisons Hope to Fill Lower Bowl of Football Stadium

WINNIPEG — It’s a huge goal, but something the marketing staff of the University of Manitoba Bisons hope to achieve.

In anticipation of the upcoming 2014 football season, the Bisons are pushing ticket sales earlier this year to help fill the lower bowl of Investors Group Field. The inaugural game in the new stadium sold 10,600 tickets — and the Bisons are hoping to double that.

“About 2,000 people waited in line in order to get their tickets (last year),” said Roxanne Perry, Bisons’ marketing and sponsorship coordinator. “So we just want to get the word out early that it’s exciting, and very affordable and lot of fun.”

Tickets will go on sale June 1 through Ticketmaster and prices remain the same as last year. Adults are $15, students/seniors are $8 and children six and under are free.

A new Bison football season pass is available for $50 (adults), while students/seniors are $25 and U of M alumni and staff is $45.

The Bisons open their regular season Friday, September 12 when they host the Regina Rams.
