Roughly 200 cancer survivors will be celebrated tonight at Investors Group Field.
The annual Canadian Cancer Society Winnipeg Relay For Life kicks off at 6:45 p.m. Survivors dressed in yellow will complete a victory lap to open the 12-hour fundraising event that brings people together to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back together. More than 1,000 Manitobans will participate in the relay that wraps up at 7 a.m. Saturday morning.
Winnipeg columnist and honorary survivor Gordon Sinclair will lead the lap around the stadium.
The purpose of the event is to bring people together to unite in the fight against cancer, and raise money to fund cancer research, programs and services that support Manitobans living with cancer.
