WINNIPEG — Children at École Stanley Knowles School now have a new outdoor basketball court to shoot hoops on this summer.
The Manitoba government provided the school’s parent advisory council with $43,000 for the project, which included replacing the existing cement and old poles, as well as fencing, bleachers and lighting.
“As a long-time basketball player, I can tell you sport opened many doors me. I want more kids to have more opportunities to pursue their passion for sports,” said Children and Youth Opportunities Minister Kevin Chief.
Besides students, the court will be accessible to anyone in the community wishing to use it.
