Charges Laid in Fatal Stabbing on Opaskwayak Cree Nation

RCMP Crest LogoA 26-year-old man is facing charges after a fatal stabbing on the Opaskwayak Cree Nation on Saturday.

Manitoba RCMP were called to a home in the community at around 3 a.m. where they found an injured 34-year-old man from The Pas. He was taken to The Pas Health Complex and later succumbed to his injuries.

Joshua Zedidiah Parisian has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He was scheduled to appear in court this morning.

The name of the deceased isn’t being released.

The RCMP Major Crime Services along with The Pas Forensic Identification Section and members of The Pas RCMP Detachment continue to investigate.
