Terry Duguid will be the Liberals’ candidate in Winnipeg South in the next federal election.
Duguid, a long-time community leader, ran for the party unsuccessfully in the last election.
“I am honoured to be nominated as the Liberal candidate for my community,” Duguid said in a statement. “I feel strongly that Winnipeg and Manitoba deserve better representation in Ottawa, and I look forward to being part of Team Trudeau in the coming election.”
The nomination meeting will be held tonight at Canad Inns Fort Garry beginning at 7 p.m.
The riding is currently represented by Conservative MP Rod Bruinooge.
