A 40-year-old man has died while in the custody of Winnipeg police.
The man was arrested on May 22 in connection to a disturbance call and transferred to the District 3 station. Police say the suspect was in an interview room where he later suffered a medical emergency.
The man was taken to hospital in critical condition and passed away on Monday.
The homicide unit is investigating and the officers involved in the arrest have been placed on administrative leave.
The man’s name isn’t being released.
