Gretna Pastor Facing Voyeurism, Child Porn Charges

May 30, 2014 4:26 PM | News

RCMP Crest LogoA 34-year-old pastor from Gretna is facing charges after a hidden camera is alleged to have filmed underage girls in a Moose Lake Provincial Park washroom.

Two female youths from the RM of Rhineland discovered the camera in the summer of 2012, but only reported it to police this past December.

Altona RCMP found several still images and video of the youths on the mobile device, which was hidden in a washroom of a home the girls were staying at in the park.

The pastor, who police haven’t identified, is facing charges of voyeurism, production of child pornography and possessing child pornography. He was arrested May 21 and will appear in Steinbach court on June 26.

Police are aware of multiple victims and say the pastor took advantage of his role in the community to access potential victims.

The suspect is no longer in his position with the church and police are continuing to investigate.
