Green Commuters Rewarded with Breakfast on Wednesday

June 3, 2014 4:49 PM | News

Green Action CentreWinnipeg commuters who use any form of active transportation on their way to work will be rewarded on Wednesday morning.

As part of the Commuter Challenge this week (June 1-7), the Green Action Centre will be set up at the corner of the new pedestrian/cyclist crossing on Osborne and Assiniboine Avenue. Free Green Bean coffee, juice and Tall Grass Prairie cinnamon buns will be offered.

“This is Green Action Centre’s 15th year hosting the Commuter Challenge, and Clean Air Day on the Bridge is our way of saying thanks for choosing to be active. Commuters can be extra green and bring a travel mug for their coffee,” said Amanda Kinden, Commuter Challenge coordinator.

In 2013, almost 7,000 Manitobans registered to ride the bus, walk, cycle, carpool, telecommute or use some other form of green commuting in this annual friendly competition.
