A 13-year-old Winnipeg boy is facing charges after two garage break-ins in the city.
The first occurred May 28 when a homeowner reported a break-in to an attached garage in the 100 block of Ranchgrove Bay around 3:30 a.m.
Police say the homeowner’s vehicle was also broken into and a garage door opener was used to gain entry.
On Tuesday shortly before 6:30 a.m., another garage break-in occurred in the 300 block of Regent Avenue West. The homeowner witnessed two males at the scene and gave chase, eventually holding one for police. The second suspect got away.
The teen is facing charges of break and enter and possession of marijuana. He was detained in custody.
Police are investigating whether both incidents are related.
