The largest fundraiser of the year for the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation is set for Sunday.
Rain or shine, the 18th Annual RBC Cruisin’ Down the Crescent will aim to raise $175,000.
About 1,000 people are registered to walk, jog, bike and wheel down Wellington Crescent shortly after 9 a.m. The 10 km event will begin at the foundation’s office at 633 Wellington and make its way to the gates of Assiniboine Park and back.
A free BBQ lunch for participants will conclude the day with live entertainment, a kiddie zone, silent auction, raffles and musicians.
Olympic gold medallist Jill Officer will also be in attendance.
In the past 17 years, the event has raised $785,000 to buy specialized equipment for children with disabilities and special needs and fund specialized recreation programs for children with disabilities in Manitoba.
