Man Stabbed in Fight at Winnipeg Bus Stop

Winnipeg Police CrestA man was critically stabbed Saturday afternoon after a fight at a bus stop at Main Street and Logan Avenue.

Winnipeg police say two men known to one another became involved in a verbal dispute, which soon escalated to a physical confrontation. The 24-year-old took out a knife and allegedly stabbed the 26-year-old man before fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Police shortly arrested the suspect after he boarded a transit bus in the area of Main Street and Bannatyne Avenue.

Muorater Masher, 24, of Winnipeg has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon. He remains in custody.
