Councillor Scott Fielding will seek the Progressive Conservative Party nomination in Kirkfield Park after his term runs out at city hall.
The St. James-Brooklands councillor isn’t running again municipally in the fall, instead turning his attention to provincial politics. It was also rumoured that he may eventually run for mayor, but he quashed those plans several weeks ago.
“I know every road, back lane, park and community club in St. James and I believe my experience delivering results for residents will serve me if I get the nomination,” Fielding said in a release.
Fielding has represented many of the residents of Kirkfield Park as their councillor for the past eight years.
“After 15 years in power, the NDP have become a tired and arrogant government, and I believe Manitobans want change and deserve a government that will respect taxpayers and be honest with our citizens.”
