Man Jumps from Ninth Floor Window to Evade Police

Winnipeg Police CrestA man jumped out of a ninth floor apartment window on Sunday night in an attempt to evade Winnipeg police.

Police were executing a search warrant in the 300 block of Cumberland Avenue just before 10 p.m. when the man jumped, falling six floors and landing on the roof of the third floor parkade.

Four other men were taken into custody as police seized several guns, ammunition, drugs and cash from the suite. All range in age between 18-26 and face numerous drug and weapon-related offences.

The fifth man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but is in stable condition.
