The Heart and Stroke Foundation is wheeling out its Big Bike again on Tuesday as it reaches its million-dollar fundraiser goal.

With help from the Winnipeg Goldeyes, the bike will begin at Shaw Park at noon before winding through the Exchange District along Lombard, Rorie and Bannatyne. Riders will then travel north on Waterfront Drive before turning around and returning to the ball park.

Twenty-nine riders and one driver will be pedalling in support of HSF.

The 30-foot-long bike will be out again on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (starting at Shaw Park), then will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday travelling from the Manitoba Legislative Building.

The Big Bike weighs over 1,950 lbs and includes about 150 feet of bicycle chain. Participants put on more than 12,000 km on the Foundation’s bikes each year.

Funds raised through the event help the HSF prevent disease, save lives and promote recovery.
