The Explore Manitoba Visitor Centre at The Forks is getting a major makeover.
The province, Travel Manitoba and Forks Renewal Corporation have partnered to fund the $2.9 million in renovations.
“A new, state-of-the-art Visitor Information Centre at The Forks gives us a unique opportunity to create another tangible brand touch point and to give travellers a sample of the immersive experiences our province has to offer,” said Colin Ferguson, president and CEO of Travel Manitoba. “We’re building a place that will welcome visitors and where our exciting travel experiences will come to life.”
Once construction is complete next spring, staff will move from Travel Manitoba’s current head office on Carlton Street to the new space.
The visitor centre sees roughly 20,000 travellers visit it annually to obtain information on Winnipeg and the province.
