A new commercial art gallery is opening soon in Winnipeg’s Exchange District.
Actual focuses on the city’s most innovative and creative artists and will be known for its leading contemporary art.
The name of the gallery comes from l’art actuel, the French term for art of the moment.
Actual will connect Winnipeg artists with collectors locally and beyond, presenting photography, drawing, painting, video, sculpture and mixed media. The gallery will present 10-12 exhibitions annually, as well as lateral programming through partnerships with both local and national cultural organizations.
Actual Artists is the inaugural exhibition and will run July 24 to August 30.
The gallery is located at 300 Ross Avenue and run by director Lisa Kehler.
