A detour route has been opened to allow access to Brandon’s municipal airport.

McGill Field was inundated with water on Sunday after relentless rainfall pummelled the Westman region.

The City of Brandon says public access to the airport can be made from the west, via Mile Road #111 North (Bloomsburry Road), which is located on the north side of Trans Canada Highway, one mile west of the KK Penner tire company property.

Today’s scheduled WestJet flight to Calgary will go ahead as scheduled. All other flight times and schedules should be confirmed with the airline. Travellers are encouraged to arrive at the Brandon airport terminal at least 90 minutes prior to this afternoon’s flight.
