A candidate running in Winnipeg’s mayoral race says the media has slanted its coverage to favour one candidate over the other.
While not getting into specifics, Mike Vogiatzakis said such coverage is “unfair and unprofessional,” and the civic election is for the people to decide and vote.
“Each individual may have already selected who they would like to win but that doesn’t mean everyone else in Winnipeg feels that way as well,” said Vogiatzakis
“The media should be covering every candidate equally and their stories. Reporting the facts on what happened at each event they attend not just the ones they want to post about.”
The business owner and funeral home director declared his intentions in March while showing off a new substance to fill potholes.
Other candidates running include Brian Bowman, Judy Wasylycia-Leis, Paula Havixbeck, Michel Fillion, Gord Steeves and Robert-Falcon Ouellette.
The civic election is October 22.
