Young entrepreneurs will be exposed to professional business mentorship beginning Monday when a summer camp begins at the University of Manitoba.
The Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship is hosting the annual New Venture Adventure Camp for 10-12-year-olds.
The self-starters will spend the week at the Asper School of Business learning what it takes to be an entrepreneur. They will learn how to develop and present a business plan, and explore teamwork, basic sales techniques, marketing and break-even analysis.
The highlight of the week will be the “Vendors of New Venture Adventure” sales competition where students will sell products at The Forks on July 10 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The campers will be selling products they make while at camp, such as personalized greeting cards, jewellery and picture frames.
