Organizers of the Regina Folk Festival are reaching over the provincial border to attract Manitobans this year.
Running August 8-10, the festival brings out up to 35,000 attendees of all ages and 600+ volunteers for three days and nights each year.
“Manitobans who love the Winnipeg Folk Festival might also want to take in the Regina Folk Festival,” a news release said. With that in mind, a contest is open to all residents of the prairie provinces age 19 and over to win the Great Regina Folk Festival Sound Escape prize package.
Items include:
– 2 adult full weekend passes to 2014 Regina Folk Festival (children 12 and under are free)
– 3 nights accommodation at Ramada Plaza Regina
– Food concession vouchers
– Refreshment tickets
– CD package
Total prize value is $1,300. The contest runs today through July 31 at ReginaFolkFestival.com.
Festival headliners this year are Serena Ryder, Sam Roberts Band, Indigo Girls, Joel Plaskett Emergency, Los Lobos, Matt Andersen, Blitz the Ambassador, Saidah Baba Talibah, Naomi Shelton and the Gospel Queens.
