Man Charged After Shots Fired at Crop Duster Plane

RCMP Crest LogoA 51-year-old man from the RM of Portage la Prairie has been charged after allegedly firing a gun at a crop duster plane.

The plane was conducting an aerial spray of a field near Fortier, Manitoba on Wednesday when it was hit. The plane had damage to the side and the bottom of its body. No injuries were reported.

An RCMP investigation led officers to a residence and some outbuildings in the area, where they seized a firearm and ammunition.

Luc Arnal has been charged with several firearms-related offences and endangering an aircraft. He remains in custody.

Police continue to investigate.
