Winnipeg vape enthusiasts are gathering at Opera Ultralounge this Sunday for an expo.
The 2014 Winnipeg Vape Expo is attracting vendors from across the country to show off their wares and help create awareness for the vaping community. Vaping can be defined as the act of inhaling water vapor through a personal vaporizer. Many use it as an alternative to smoking cigarettes, including those trying to kick the habit.
The non-profit Winnipeg Vape Club is hosting the expo from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 441 Main Street.
According to the club, brick and mortar vape establishments are opening across Manitoba at a raid pace. Eight have opened in the last year, with more expected to pop up soon.
“All vendors share the same agenda to show as many analog cigarette smokers as they can that vaping could be an effective alternative for them,” the club said.
