A local memorial service is being held this evening for the victims of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17.
The Ukrainian Canadian Congress — Manitoba Provincial Council is asking the public to attend St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue, at 6:30 p.m.
The flight was tragically shot down over Eastern Ukraine on Thursday, killing 298 people from nearly a dozen countries.
Similar vigils and memorial services are being organized by UCC branches and Ukrainian community organizations across North America.
