Winnipeg Cyclist Killed Near Selkirk

RCMP Crest LogoA 25-year-old Winnipeg cyclist was struck and killed just north of Selkirk on Sunday.

The rider was travelling on Highway 9 between Netley Road and Kreamer Road just after midnight when a southbound van struck the cyclist, who had been travelling in the middle of the road.

The cyclist, who wasn’t a helmet, was declared deceased at the scene.

The 69-year-old Selkirk woman driving the van wasn’t injured.

The driver was not intoxicated, and it’s not known if the cyclist was impaired.

Police continue to investigate.
