If your idea of a good prairie winter is spending it somewhere else, you’ve got another option for flying.
WestJet announced Monday they will be adding a Saturday weekly non-stop flight from Winnipeg to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, starting on November 1, 2014.
The Winnipeg Airport Authority welcomed the move.
“Fort Lauderdale is a popular destination for Manitobans in the winter, especially for those who make their winter homes in southern Florida, so it has been on our radar for some time,” said WAA spokesperson Scott Marohn.
