Winnipeg police say while they’ve made an arrest in the city’s 13th homicide of 2014, they’re still hoping witnesses will come forward.
Police said Lorie Bearbull, 37, was walking on Redwood Avenue on July 18 around 4:50 a.m. when she encountered a young woman, whom she did not know. The pair got into an argument and the young woman stabbed Bearbull several times in the upper body. The woman then ran away.
Naomi Ross, 20, was arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder on Thursday.
Police are hopeful that anyone who witnessed this crime would come forward with information. Anyone with info is asked to call 204-986-6508.
