RCMP Crest LogoA 69-year-old Carberry man was killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 10.

The collision happened at around 1 p.m. south of Brandon at Road 48 North.

RCMP say a car travelling northbound on Highway 10 crossed the centre line and collided with a southbound SUV.

The driver of the car was taken to local hospital and pronounced deceased. The 87-year-old Hartney woman driving the SUV was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor and both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The name of the deceased isn’t being released.

As of 3 p.m., the highway remained closed while emergency personnel continue to work in the area.
