Man Charged with Luring Alberta Teen Online

Winnipeg Police CrestA 53-year-old Winnipeg man is facing charges after police say he attempted to lure an Alberta teen over the Internet.

The man posed as a 13-year-old girl to befriend the 16-year-old boy from Alberta over a social network.

Police allege the luring took place in April of this year and began an investigation.

On July 16, police executed a search warrant on a Normand Park home, seizing a number of electronic items. The man was taken into custody without incident and faces luring and child pornography charges.

He was released on a promise to appear.
